Previous focuses of FEF Showcases include Documentary and Low Budget. This year's event will recognise the importance of Chinese established filmmakers and new talents within the global film industry and aim to connect the UK and Chinese industries. Feature and short film screenings of some of the best new work from China will complement a production forum which will bring together UK and Chinese film talent to exchange creative ideas and working practices and to establish relationships for potential collaborations.

FEF will also invite some of the internationally-acclaimed creative forces in Chinese cinema, to take part in our events. We also hope to tour some of the films and content from the screening week to venues and market places across the UK.

FEF will be a highlight of the industry calendar and are an important opportunity for UK cinema-goers to explore film from China. They are also a chance for Chinese filmmakers to connect with practitioners in an increasingly global film industry.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

•  Non-competitive

•  For Chinese productions only

•  Deadline:  1 August 2010

•  No limit on type, format or length

•  Films not in English must have subtitles in English

•  Competition is open for all filmmakers (Students, Professionals, Independent etc.)

•  Although recent work is preferred, in some cases older films may be submitted

•  The number of entries by one author is not limited.

•  Participation in FEF is free of charge. The participant guarantees that third parties have no claim on the submitted films.
